I Wuv ooo!

Every night I take Amber up to bed and ask the boys to say night, night to Amber. Tyler adds, "I Wuv ooo!"

How precious is that!?

A Tooth!

Amber is just now deciding that she likes some of the solid foods we've been offering her. At her four month appointment, Dr. said we could start giving her solids, starting with rice cereal. She hated the rice cereal. So, when she was sick over Thanksgiving the nurse suggested we try bananas to try to harden her stools. She thought the bananas were ok, but never took to the rice cereal.

So, I just started giving her the other veggies and fruits that the boys liked when they were just starting out. She loves them! Carrots and sweet potatoes and pears, etc. And then I bought some oatmeal cereal and she absolutely loves it. She still says no to the rice cereal, unless it is mixed with a fruit or veggie.

Which brings me to the fact that we just discovered a tooth last night! On the bottom, popping out as clear as a pearly white! :-) I can't remember exactly when the boys started getting teeth, but I think this is a little sooner than them. I know Cory got his first tooth before Tyler and that's when we really slowed down on the breastfeeding, which was about six months.

25 Days to Make A Difference

I ran across this site while checking out my favorite blogs. The link came from Blog Con Queso. What a great idea. I want to make sure that my kids are always looking at ways they can help others and this is a neat thing that this 10 year old has started. Not only is she learning how to help others, but she's getting to connect with people all over the world.

Awesome!

Holiday Cheer

As we get ready for the holidays, I keep thinking how fun and wonderful it is to start creating our own family traditions. Most of them come from both Miles and my childhoods where we have fond memories, but I find that most of the traditions are a mix of both and a vision of what I want our kids to remember. Miles gets involved too, but I am the one that makes the plans and makes it happen.

Last weekend we made cookies and decorated the house. The boys got involved as much as possible. They helped roll out dough, eat the dough, cut the dough, eat the dough, decorate the cookies and eat the cookies and frosting. Grammie and Bumpa were a huge help. As Grammie and I cooked and decorated the house, Miles and Bumpa decorated the house on the outside. No amazing roof hanging feats, but our house looks very festive thanks to them.

We had a great time decorating cookies and I think Cory ate more frosting than he used to decorate the cookies - but what great memories!!

This weekend we went to Portrait Innovations at Centerra to get our family Christmas pictures done. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend their studio. Not as artistic and professional as Relish photography, but certainly worth the money and the time. By the way, I've never met Maile and never even commented on her site, but I LOVE her! :-) I even considered naming Amber Maile at one point. (I digress)

I can't wait to post about all the fun holiday traditions our family starts and continues through this journal.
